Business Description

This is the largest Landscape & Snow Removal company in town. This company provides landscape installations, including hardscaping (stonework) and irrigation systems. Company also provides snow removal and landscape maintenance.

The company has a 25,000sf yard in-town to store a sizable inventory of plants and mulch, and large equipment. It is adjacent to a 7,900sf professional office and a 5,900sf shop space for irrigation supplies and hand tools, and also has indoor parking facilities. The company has a remote ranch with a pond where large numbers of trees and shrubs can be watered and stored cost effectively. The Seller owns the property and will provide all or part for lease if needed – will also exclude the real estate if not desired by the Buyer. Seller will consider offers on the real estate. Because sellable inventory varies so much during the year; it will be counted, verified, and added to the base price above at closing (inventory ranges during the year from $50K to $200K).

While most landscape companies are very seasonal, this business stays busy during the shoulder season with maintenance and then gets quite busy during the winter months providing snow removal. Because many clients are on a long-term maintenance agreement, they produce revenue for snow removal even if the snow is not heavy. Snowfall has been below average for the last few years, which has impacted many of the local firms that depend on heavy snows. Many of the projects are so large they last a few seasons and can only be serviced by a few contractors in town. By providing excellent service during installation, the company is first in line to receive the maintenance agreement for these projects.

Because of its size, this company has good managers in place to continue operations when the Owner retires. Systems are in place to record as-built conditions (such as photographs and drawings of shut-offs and plantings). Owner will be available for assistance for a long period if needed.
