Suzanne M. De Lucia CBI, Fellow of the IBBA – President/Managing Broker
Ms. De Lucia has been the President and Managing Broker of Front Range Business, Inc. for over 20 years. Her other work history includes ownership of both distribution and food manufacturing businesses, as well as six years as a chemical engineer. She holds an MBA from the University of Northern Colorado with an emphasis in Management, as well as a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Colorado, and a BS in Biology from the University of Denver. Suzanne has been selected as a Fellow of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), the association’s highest honor. She has also earned the IBBA’s Certified Business Intermediary (CBI). Suzanne has served on the IBBA Board of Directors, and as Vice-Chairman of several committees in the IBBA. She is a founding member of the Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries (CABI), where she is a Past President and Past Chairman of the Education Committee. Her other interests include membership in Naturally Boulder, which nurtures and promotes natural products businesses of all kinds, and the M&A Source, an organization that supports Mergers & Acquisitions professionals.
Paul W. Chambliss CBI – Vice-President/Broker
Mr. Chambliss has been a business broker in Colorado since 1992. His previous background includes 14 years in the homebuilding industry. For six years, Paul was the Denver Division Manager, then the Vice President and Construction Manager for Wonderland Custom Builders, a custom homebuilder located in Boulder. Paul brings real estate knowledge and property management experience to the office. He is an honors graduate of the University of Colorado with a BS in Finance and a BA in French. Paul has earned the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation from the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA). He contributes sale data to BIZCOMPS, Pratt’s Stats, and BizBuySell‘s Sold Comps, which are national databases of Guideline Private Company sales statistics. He is also an active member of the Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries (CABI), where he serves as the Vice-President of Communications and the Chairman of the Website Committee. Thom Beckett CBI – Broker Associate/Breckenridge Office
Mr. Beckett is a Certified Business Intermediary and a former small business owner of 10 years. He brings twenty-five years of business experience with him, including four years in the corporate world. With a B.S. in Marketing and a Colorado real estate license, he focuses exclusively on business transactions and associated commercial real estate. From high atop the Ten Mile Range in Breckenridge, he serves the central Colorado mountain corridor, focusing on the counties of Summit, Eagle, Grand, Chaffee, Garfield and Pitkin. An active member of both the Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries (CABI) and the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), he participates in both his profession and his community. Bill Scott – Broker Associate/Fort Collins & Boulder Offices
Mr. Scott’s experience includes many facets of Business Ownership and Management over a 35 year period. He is a Civil Engineering Graduate of Colorado State University. His areas of expertise include Engineering, Manufacturing, Distribution, Consulting, Construction and Service Providers. He has unique experience with emerging technical markets such as solar, wind and hydrogen energy, and with emerging consumer markets such as home elevators. He has successfully sold businesses that he started from scratch, and has been involved in strategic mergers and acquisitions.
Don Hobbs – Broker Associate/Boulder Office
Mr. Hobbs is a 45-year resident of Boulder County who brings a solid background in entrepreneurship and running service-oriented business. His previous experience includes serving national clients as varied as Microsoft, Volvo, Tom Peters, Chipotle and the Adolph Coors Co. He has led business initiatives from business planning, product development, to service operations. Don was the Technical Director for the Coors Bicycle Classic during the 80s, and the founding Race Director for the Tour de Trump. He actively cycles road, dirt and velodrome for fun and fitness. He is especially proud of his achievement in raising over $3 million for The Children’s Hospital Foundation and The Red Cross.
Phil Loughman – Broker Associate/Boulder Office
Mr. Loughman’s credentials include 42 years as a licensed landscape architect, including 22 years as the owner and president of Boulder’s largest landscape design/build firm. In recognition of its excellence, the company has received 24 state and national awards for landscape design and construction. Phil’s career has also included 14 years in higher education administration for three major university systems. Those responsibilities included landscape architecture, campus planning, construction project and real estate management, and administration of a faculty/staff housing program. He has also worked as a consultant in both the landscape industry and in higher education administration. Phil holds Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign. He is a licensed Colorado broker and a member of the International Business Brokers Association. Living in the Northern Colorado countryside, he enjoys numerous outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, kayaking and an occasional round of golf.
Matt Williams – Broker Associate/Denver & Boulder Offices
Matt has spent nearly a decade in transaction representation including several years as a Vice-President at The Forbes M+A Group, a leading middle market investment bank focused on technology, e-commerce and manufacturing. He’s been responsible for the successful execution of over 30 sell-side transactions, translating to greater than $80M in total deal consideration. His professional experience also includes a stint as CFO of a Colorado software company serving the hospitality industry. In 2016, Matt rejoined the FRB team with whom he spent 5 years in the early part of his career. His ability to employ middle market investment banking methodology to the sale of Colorado’s premier small companies allows him to provides his clients with unique market positioning, expanded buyer options and negotiating techniques that result in deal terms not commonly achievable by standard business brokerage practices. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from the University of Colorado. He is a passionate golfer and life-long woodworker.
Kimberley Rivero CBI – Broker Associate/Boulder Office
Ms. Rivero began her career in high-tech by co-founding a Boulder computer store in 1990. She successfully sold that business in 1996 and moved into web development. She worked for several Boulder high-tech startups then ran her own boutique web communications firm. Her desire to work once again with entrepreneurs brought her to business brokerage where she can help business owners transition to their next venture. Kim holds a Colorado real estate license and is an active member of both the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and the Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries (CABI). She has earned the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation from the IBBA. Kim has a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Computer Art as well as a Web Technologies Certificate. She enjoys running and hiking with her dogs.
Joel D. Russman – Broker/Boulder Office
Mr. Russman is one of the first lawyers to work with legal marijuana businesses. He brought his 35 years of small-business and real estate experience to the cannabis industry more than seven years ago. “In marijuana years, that’s like a lifetime,” says one of Joel’s clients. Equipped with decades of experience helping closely-held businesses with purchase and sale transactions, contract issues, real estate deals, leasing matters, dispute resolution and succession planning, in 2010 he became one of the first Colorado lawyers to help marijuana businesses understand and comply with the newly enacted Colorado Medical Marijuana Code (HB 1284). His goal at Front Range Business, Inc. is to provide top-shelf business brokerage services to the cannabis industry. He earned his B.A. from Brandeis University in 1977 and his J.D. from the University of Michigan in 1980. Mr. Russman wrote the Colorado Choice of Entity Deskbook (Bradford Publishing), and has published articles in The Denver Business Journal, The Colorado Real Estate Journal and The Articulator. He has presented workshops on marijuana law and marijuana real estate at Kushcon and for the Colorado Bar Association.
Dave Harris, Broker Associate/Boulder Office
Mr. Harris brings to Front Range Business, Inc. 28 years worth of passion and expertise in technology and the health/outdoor industries. As a sales and marketing executive, his wide range of experience spans raw start-ups to Fortune 500 firms, including Adobe and Texas Instruments. He has in-depth knowledge in both starting a business as well as in buying, developing, and selling existing businesses. Over his career, Dave has been involved in M&A transactions worth $860 million. He is most proud that each transaction produced a successful organization with a thriving workforce. Before joining FRB, Dave and his wife sold their adventure travel business in collaboration with the FRB team. When not helping buyers and sellers successfully reach their goals, you can usually find Dave on his bikes – road, mountain, and touring. He rides them all. In one of his most fun and challenging adventures, he cycled the entire Pony Express route from St. Joseph, Missouri to San Francisco. In his spare time, Dave works on his passion project as a board member of www.OxygenBuzz.com, a lifestyle publication for active Baby Boomers. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Oregon State University and an MBA from Northeastern University. He also makes a mean chili.
Michael H. Marks, Lifetime CBI, Fellow of the IBBA – Broker Associate/Denver Office
Mr. Marks is a Certified Business Intermediary with over forty years of business experience and ownership. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Colorado and has been selling businesses for over twenty-one years. Michael is a Past President and a founding board member of the Colorado Association of Business Intermediaries (CABI) and an active member of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA). He is the author and instructor of an 8 hour educational course for members of the IBBA entitled “Effective Negotiations for the Business Broker” and has presented this course in Denver, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, New Orleans, Phoenix, Reno and Dallas and Boston. Michael has been selected as a Fellow of the International Business Brokers Association, the association’s highest honor. Since his initial sales and marketing training with the Maytag Co., Michael has owned and operated ten companies in widely diverse industries including printing, manufacturing, distribution, retail, and mail-order. Michael holds a BS in Business Administration with a specialty in Marketing from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He has served as an Army Artillery Battery Commander in the Republic of South Korea. Michael has taken up cartooning as a hobby in recent years and has found by using those skills along with his extensive business experience, he has created the Toons and Tips Drip Marketing program with the message of Maximizing Business Value for Business Brokers across the country.
Dawn Maree – Broker Associate/North Denver Metro
Ms. Maree has started and operated multiple businesses over the past 20 years and understands firsthand that the business owners’ journey is paved with significant sacrifices and thrilling triumphs. She brings vast knowledge and personal experience as an ally to help business owners navigate the final stretch of their journey. Greg Welk – Senior Advisor
Mr. Welk leverages fifteen years of operational finance, capital raising, and mergers and acquisitions experience. Prior to investment banking, Greg began his career in wealth management at Morgan Stanley and later worked in senior level finance roles for startup technology and financial firms. Having worked on behalf of both buyers and sellers, Greg brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to assist companies to prepare for transactions, navigate the due diligence process, and negotiate and close deals.
