22 year old business provides a simple product directly to homeowners throughout Colorado’s Front Range. Demand for the product is increasing as homeowners are looking for improvements both in aesthetics and safety. Company markets through local home improvement magazines and a custom website with great organic search results. The sales process takes less than an hour and the customers generally accept the order immediately. The average order is about $4,000. Installation typically takes the team one day. The installation does not rely on other contractors to complete their work prior, so this firm has control over the schedule. The company has customized sales literature and nice samples. Product is fabricated custom for every job so it can’t be found at local building material warehouses. The customer pays a deposit to place the order which covers the material cost. The installation occurs when material arrives from manufacturer, final payment is made upon completion. The Installers are well trained and are dependable. The Owner works full time in biz and performs sales and project management and is willing to stay a short while in sales role and will train the new owner in all facets of the business. The sales process is simple, well-tuned and can be easily trained to the Buyer or to a new Salesperson.  Company is fully staffed for the current volume and has one seasoned supervisor that should stay with the company long-term. 

This is an excellent family business that can be run from a home office anywhere in the Greater Denver area. Currently, a 3,000 square foot warehouse is used to store materials and tools. Customers do not visit the warehouse. The ideal buyer would be someone that is good with homeowners and enjoys sales and project management. This is a great business for someone that enjoys being out in the field.

There is growth potential beyond the current market area, but additional installers will be needed. The owner has kept the business small because he just didn’t want to manage more than a small team of people.  This would also make a great “bolt-on” business for an existing company that serves similar customers.
